Saturday - Tracy City, TN

Today Jim and I drove up to Tracy City, Tennessee and had lunch at the Dutch-Maid Bakery. They have good sandwiches and specials. They also have some great baked goods. They'd have too since they've been in business for over 100 years.

Anyway, to get to Tracy City from where we live, you really have to want to go there. It's located on top of a mountain and the roads are anything but straight! Nice and twisty, sharp turns, steep drop offs - you get the picture. But it's worth the trip.

From there we went to Beersheba Springs and to the Mayhews at Beersheba Porcelain. Mr. Mayhew is a potter and Mrs. Mayhew makes jewelry. We had quite an experience there, as Jim asked Mrs. Mayhew if she could restring a cross necklace Kim (Jimmy's girlfriend) had given him at Christmas. A simple little task which turned out to be a big ordeal. Bless her heart! And that's all I'll say. I'll have to post a picture later of the beautiful pitcher we bought.
